Advanced Export

You can define advanced exporting settings to populate Excel worksheets by using Excel templates with pre-defined tokens that replace tagged instance data. These worksheets can then be exported to your local download folder.

Follow these steps to define advanced export settings. For example,

  1. Open Data manager.
  2. In the General group, select Advanced export.
    Tokens, File names, and Options for advanced exports appear. For example,
  3. Enter applicable Tokens as follows:
    Display Name Description Example Defaults
    Start token

    The start token value.

    This value is used to identify the start of a property name.

    <ec>NAME <ec>
    End Token The end token value (cannot be the same as the StartToken). This value is used to identify the end of a property name. NAME</ec> </ec>
    Simple Token Used to map a single property. $NAME $
  4. Enter applicable File Names as follows:
    Display Name Description Example Defaults
    Property The name of the property to be used as the file name.

    This value can be expanded to use tokens.

    In the following example:

    <ec>NAME</ec> - Model(<ec>MODEL_NUMBER</ec>)

    The file name appears as follows:

    C-0001 - Model(A100).xlsx

    NAME, CodeValue NAME
    Single sheet

    Workbook name when all sheets are exported in one file.

  5. Enter applicable Options, as follows:
    Display Name Description Example Defaults
    Ignore case for token property match Ignores the case of the token when obtaining the property value False (Auto On)
    Show Print Option Displays the print button True (Auto On)
    Use property units Uses the property unit as a suffix 100 kg or 100 True
    Use space for property units Places a space between value and unit label 100kg or 100 kg True
    Ignore class match on single template match When selecting multiple templates, the class name is extracted to determine if that selected template should be used If only one sheet is selected, use that sheet regardless of the template name True
    Allow template selection in form Allows the reselect of a template file False
    Export all sheets in one Excel file Creates an Excel file with all the excel sheets False
    Show property token errors Options are:
    • Blank
    • Invalid token names appear in red.
    False
    Hide the excel headers Hides the row and column headers. On export these will be hidden in Excel. True
    ReadOnly Determines if the sheet is open for edit False
    Export by sheet selection Only exports the selected sheet. False
    Create Excel files after selection of templates Creates Excel files after selection of templates . False
    Export all sheets in one PDF Exports all sheets in a single PDF. False
  6. When you are finished, click Save.
